Culture in Translation: Reception of Chinese Literature in the World

The Con­fer­ence aims to pro­vide a plat­form for exchang­ing fresh views on both the­o­ret­i­cal and empir­i­cal issues related to the trans­la­tion of Chi­nese Lit­er­a­ture in the World. It also encour­ages dis­cus­sions on the cor­re­la­tions between trans­la­tion and social issues such as glob­al­iza­tion. We aim to estab­lish links between aca­d­e­mics, researchers, stake­hold­ers and pol­i­cy­mak­ers in the hope of fos­ter­ing research in the fields of cul­tural and cre­ative arts as well as the teach­ing of translation.

The Con­fer­ence will address a wide range of top­ics includ­ing, but not lim­ited to, the fol­low­ing areas:

* 30 Sep­tem­ber 2010: Dead­line for paper submission
* 30 Novem­ber 2010: Dead­line for pay­ment of reg­is­tra­tion fee
* 6–8 Jan­u­ary 2011: Conference

Sub­mis­sions from all coun­tries are warmly wel­comes. Please sub­mit an abstract with 200 — 300 words in Chi­nese or Eng­lish by 30 July 2010 to cit2011@ouhk.edu.hk. Appli­cants will be noti­fied of their appli­ca­tion sta­tus by 31 August 2010.
