APU opened in April 2000 through the collaboration of three parties from the public and private sectors: Oita Prefecture, Beppu City and the Ritsumeikan Academy.
There are various scholarships available to outstanding international students here at APU. Academic programs included in the scholarship are Asia Pacific Studies and Contemporary Japan Studies, among others.
At the time of your application international students are eligible to apply for the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship. Funding for this scholarship comes from APU, many companies and individuals that support APU’s concepts and goals: educating international youth so as to promote peace and international understanding. This scholarship lasts for the entire period of your study, with good academic results.
