Sundress Publications is pleased to announce the publication of the 2009 Best of the Net Anthology. This project works to promote the diverse and growing collection of voices that are choosing to publish their work online, a venue that still sees little respect from such yearly anthologies as the Pushcart and Best American series. This collection will hopefully help to bring more respect to an innovative and continually expanding medium.
There are 20 poems and 5 short stories included in the anthology. Three of which are by Asian writers:
Oliver de la Paz's "The Surgical Theater as Spirit Cabinet" from Diode Poetry Journal
Iris A. Law's "Circumnavigation" from Cha: An Asian Literary Journal
Taylur Thu Hien Ngo's "I am my Rooster" from Blackbird
Three other works by Asian writers were longlisted for the 2009 anthology:
"The Bibliophile," by Mehnaz Turner from Pedestal Magazine
"Spoon Position," by Daniel Lin from Waccamaw
"SS," by Siel Ju from Fringe
A few poems by Oliver dela Paz and Iris A. Law have been featured on Asia Writes. Meanwhile, Mehnaz Turner will debut on Asia Writes this week as we feature her poem, "Shakespeare was Punjabi."
