AsianAmerican WritersWorkshop: The Asian American Writers' Workshop moves to a new home on May 1st!
As you're reading this, construction workers are installing new track lighting, phone lines are being transferred, and the Workshop staff is picking out paint swatches. That's my roundabout way of saying we've got some fantastic news for you. We're moving.
Over my last two years at the Workshop, I've met so many of you who told me that the Workshop wasn't just another reading series. You told me you came to the Workshop because it felt warm and magical and alive. You came because the Workshop is that place you could come and finally forget that you were Asian American and simply be yourself. You came because the Workshop feels like a second home--or as former Queens Poet Laureate Ishle Yi Park called us, "a nest, a gathering place, a refuge."
Starting May, we'll have a new address, but we'll still be your home. While our current lease is expiring, we think you'll love our cozy new abode as much as we do. It's located just a few blocks away and has a tin ceiling, brand new carpeting, and bamboo flooring. (As well as a much-improved bathroom!) You can expect not just our usual quirky yet curated literary events, but a new chapter in the story of the Workshop. Just in time for Asian American Heritage month and the Workshop's twentieth birthday next year.
Drop by for one last party at our Koreatown loft this Sunday, 4/25 at 7 pm. Until then, we hope you'll write your favorite Workshop memories or tag us in your favorite Workshop photos on our Facebook wall.

poet'sPicturebook acquires its own unique address!
We live in the same house but we have a new address: http://www.marnescripts.com.ph. You may or may not update your bookmarks but every time you click or use our old address, you will be redirected to this site. So no problem. It just means that our location is entirely our own, unique to poet'sPicturebook. So while we were at it, we gave you an even better look. The better to enjoy the same quality poetry, art, photography, essay. From all over. Give it a click and see if it works: http://www.marnescripts.com.ph
