OUR OWN VOICE announces a call for nominees for the 2010 Global Filipino Literary Award (GFLA) in fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Nominations may be submitted by authors, publishers and booksellers. The deadline is on July 28, 2010 and these are nominations only for books by Filipino authors published in 2008 and 2009.
The Global Filipino Literary Awards (GFLA) was established in 2003 by Our Own Voice Literary Ezine (http://www.ourownvoice.com) to recognize publishers and authors for their efforts in advancing contemporary Filipino Literature. There is no monetary prize but gift prizes and a citation. Annual recipients of the GFLA receive an additional distinction: the monographs are catalogued as a special collection at the Library of Congress and housed in the Asian Reading Room.
