Description: The Association of Afghan American Writers (AAAW) was created to foster the growth and disseminate the works of writers of Afghan descent. AAAW aims to create a community that will support one another’s writings through the organization of literary readings; develop the craft of writing by offering writer’s workshops; and offer programs that can help in the dissemination and publication of writers of Afghan descent living in the United States. Co-founded by Yalda Asmatey (California), Sahar Muradi (New York) and Zohra Saed (New York), AAAW is a non-profit organization with one branch in California and another branch in New York.
