Journalism fellowships and exchanges for working American and Asia Pacific journalists promote understanding of the complexities of the Asia Pacific region through study tours. Intensive dialogue with colleagues, government officials, business executives and community leaders provides participants with a means to broaden their network of contacts.
- Asia Pacific Journalism Fellowships: For American journalists; study tour to Singapore, Bangkok, and Taiwan.
- Chaplin Fellowship in Distinguished Journalism: For distinguished American and Asia Pacific journalists; delivering major address at the East-West Center
- Health Journalism Fellowships: For Asia Pacific and American journalists; study tour to select countries in the Asia Pacific region to look at infectious diseases and other health issues.
- Hong Kong Journalism Fellowships: For American journalists; study tour to three cities in mainland China and Hong Kong.
- 2010 International Media Conference: The East-West Center will host its second international Media Conference in Hong Kong, April 2010. This event will cover important news and media issues in Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the United States.
- Japan-U.S. Journalists Exchange: For Japanese and American journalists. Japanese journalists travel to three cities in the United States; American journalists travel to three cities in Japan.
- Jefferson Fellowships: For Asia Pacific and American journalists; conducted twice annually; study tour to destinations in the continental United States and Asia Pacific region based on program theme.
- Korea-US Journalists Exchange: For Korean and American journalists. Korean journalists travel to three cities in the United States; American journalists travel to three cities in South Korea.
- Northeast Asia Journalists Dialogue: For Japanese, Korean, Chinese and U.S. journalists to discuss regional issues and media coverage of these issues; held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Senior Journalists Seminar: For Asian journalists (from select countries) and American journalists; Asian journalists travel to three cities in the United States; American journalists travel to two or three cities in Asia; to enhance understanding between the United States and the Asian Muslim world.
