Bino Realuyo, Dionisio Velasco, and Eric Gamalinda at Woodside Library
Join us for an afternoon of eclectic writings by three Filipino authors at the Woodside Library in Queens. Without sentimentality, these writers address their respective histories and current ties to the country in which they were born. Meet the co-founder of the Workshop, Bino A. Realuyo. His most recent poetry collection, The Gods We Worship Live Next Door, was awarded the 2009 Philippine National Book Award. Dionisio Velasco’s work addresses the pains of growing up Filipino in an unfamiliar America. Finally, Eric Gamalinda presents his poetry, described as “luminous” by Arthur Sze and “Whitmanesque” by Eugene Gloria, winner of the National Poetry Series.

The event is happening on March 22 at 3PM.
