Amar Kant Selected for Samman Award Worth Rs2.5 Lakh
Noted Hindi writer Amar Kant won for his novel 'Inhin Hathiyaron Se' the Vyas Samman Award. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh and is given to an outstanding literary work published in the last decade.

Professor Surya Prasat Dixit headed the jury composed of members of K K Birla Foundation. The novel by the 85-year old writer is about the 1947 independence set in the rural Balia region, where the writer was born. Amar Kant started his career as a journalist and he was first published as a fiction writer in 1949.
