Filipino Editor/Associate Editor
Responsibilities:
* Oversees editorial production of newspaper
* Interviews, writes/edits stories and features
* Monitors story/picture submission to ensure superior quality
* Coordinates with writers and contributors for story lists, layouts, and picture requirements of the paper
* Coordinates with artists regarding the design, layout, pagination and production of the paper
* Coordinates with sales for advertising placements and requirements, including design and layout
* Trains writers/contributors on writing style, grammar and editing
* Attends press conferences and represents the publication in events and community gatherings
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:
* Degree in Journalism/Mass communication or equivalent.
* At least 3 years experience in writing, editing and managing a magazine/newspaper, with PR marketing skills
* Proficient in English and Tagalog, both written and oral
* Excellent work ethics
* Has ability to work in a fast working environment
* Can work under pressure and willing to work long hours
* Patient, flexible and resourceful
