Position: Asia - Pacific military news site now hiring editor
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Description:
Coordinates content for online magazine website focused on military, security and drug trafficking issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
Must be able to build a network of freelance writers in the Asia-Pacific region. Must be able to develop story ideas, assign articles to writers and maintain an editorial calendar tracking articles from assignment to payment.
Performs other tasks including managing reader comments, copyediting, photo editing, tagging articles, updating the website, and other tasks as assigned.
5 days/week schedule. Familiarity with Asian-Pacific culture and military / security issues is required. Fluency in Thai or Indonesian a plus.
Must be able to work under pressure and on deadlines, coordinating content from a variety of sources in a variety of formats.
Must demonstrate experience in writing or editing for a news website or print publication.
Works under the supervision of the Managing Editor of the affiliated regional website.
