Candidates must have ELT experience (teaching or sales & marketing) in Korea as well as editorial experience.
Main areas of activity
- Helping develop the shape of new market-specific publishing
- Project managing several local projects (budgets, schedules)
- Managing freelance staff
- Content editing, copy editing, proof-reading
- Researching and understanding the market and customer needs and trends
In addition to project management, the position will involve a significant amount of translation review and copy editing and the editor should be able to switch easily between project management and “hands-on” editing work.
Conditions
- Basic working hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00-18:00
- Occasional weekend work; some domestic and international business trips
Candidate profile
- Fully bilingual (Korean and English) or native Korean with advanced level English
- ELT experience (teaching and/or sales & marketing)
- Work experience in publishing
-Editorial experience (preferably with experience of translation review and editing)
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills
- Able to demonstrate initiative and work independently (there will only be one editor in Korea)
- Computer literate and quick with new software
