Job Vacancy: Web Editor for Elle Magazine (Hong Kong)

SCMP Hearst Hong Kong Limited is looking for high-caliber candidates to join its Hong Kong team as:

WEB EDITOR/ SENIOR EDITOR

Reporting to Managing Editor, this position will focus on producing content for elle.com.hk

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for celebrity, lifestyle, gourmet and video channels to achieve traffic goal
• Daily news & feature writing and publishing through content management system in timely manner
• Initiate ideas and coordinate for video shooting & editing
• Initiate new content topics and cooperation with celebrities to increase appeal of content
• Generate hot topics, new ideas and attractive content to assist on marketing campaigns, promotions and client projects
• Take part and update ELLE Editor blog, facebook page and respond to user feedback
• Analyse content performance to find improvement through web analytic tools
• Support and follow up SEO tactics on everyday content creation
• Support for new products and website revamp/ enhancement

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business Management or Multimedia
• Excellent writing and editing skills; command of written and spoken Chinese and English
• 4 years experience of working for fashion & lifestyle media, preferably with knowledge of social media such as blogging, facebook, weibo etc
• Candidate with more experience could be considered as Senior Web Editor
• Experience of working for digital/ online media
• Good connections with entertainment industry and celebrities is an advantage
• Strong passion for and sense of the celebrity scene as it relates to fashion, beauty and lifestyle topics
• Deadline driven, self-actualized professional able to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Proficient in MS Office software.
