ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific day-to-day responsibilities and milestones needed to achieve the objectives):
- Write headlines and stories accurately, quickly and with high standards of credibility, in accordance with Reuters principles and operating standards.
- Identify market-moving figures and comments to prepare news stories from sources including electronic news releases, conference calls, Webcasts and press conferences.
- Build and maintains contacts and sources to develop deep subject expertise. Coordinate coverage with equities reporters in North America, Asia and Europe.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- An ability to write clearly and quickly to meet Reuters reporting standards and principles.
- A sound command of grammar, spelling, punctuation.
- Comfort with handling financial data and facts accurately and quickly.
- An ability to work under time pressure and undertake shift work
- Typically 0-8 years experience writing and reporting business news.
- Knowledge of corporate activity and stock markets, or an ability to gain such knowledge quickly.
