Call for Poetry/ Stories by Anyone Born Before August 1947: Nivasini Publishers
Deadline: 11 May 2013 (non-English submissions), 15 August 2013 (English submissions)

Their wrinkles and their age tell stories. Stories which are timeless. Stories which are worth treasuring.

Come, let's dust those notebooks in the closet, gift a pen to our grandparents, granduncles/ grandaunts or neighbours and watch their words fly in the form of poem or short story or even their invaluable memories.

Anyone born before August 15, 1947 is eligible to participate. Multiple entries in multiple categories are also allowed. We hope it is understood that the entries will not be hurtful to anyone's personal or religious sentiments.

To make the recollection of thoughts easier, we divided it into three categories:
  • Childhood memories
  • Pre-independence days (be it any country)
  • Life - today
Limits:
  • Poem: less than 36 lines
  • Short story: less than 1800 words
  • Memoir: less than 2700 words
Please send poems, memoirs or short stories on any topic composed by your grandparents or any person born before August 15, 1947 to us by e-mail. We will bind their thoughts in a book and share it with the world. Even posthumous work is welcome. We're sure you will encourage them even if they can't write. We will also ensure translation of entries that are in any prominent language other than English.
