The 2012 Sayembara Merdeka Poetry Recitation Contest, to be held on October 13th at People's Information Center (Seremban District Information Office), is open to Malaysian youth, at least 15 years of age. The contest is co-organised by the Federation of Malaysian National Writers Associations.
Interested youth should fill out a participation form available at the Negeri Sembilan Information Department or any district information office. They will have to choose one poem from a selection of 10 poems. Five minutes is allotted for the actual poetry recitation per participant. Participants are allowed to use props. Winners will receive cash prizes.
