Malad-based ‘Gandhi Vichar Manch’ has announced a contest for general public, journalists and poets and the winners will be rewarded on Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2012. The contest is targeted at multiple age groups. Children aged up to 10 years have to draw ‘Mahatma Gandhi's Andolan’ related image. Children between 11 to 15 have to write an essay on ‘Bapu's Andolan’. Youngsters aged between 16 to 20 have to write a essay on Ghandji's non violence’(Ahinsha). The adults aged 21 and above have to write an essay on ‘Gandhiji's relevance in modern day.
The winners will be awarded Rs. 1500. The 2nd and 3rd winners will be given Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 respectively all 4 age groups. All the winners will receive a certificate & trophy.
The journalists and the poets have to write a story or poem on Mahatma Gandhi. Winner will receive first prize Rs. 3500. The second and third winners will receive Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1500 respectively. The entry is free.
