BookFest @ Malaysia is established since 2006 with an aim to showcase leading publishers, exhibit the latest most innovative stationery, CD and Multimedia products. The much anticipated fair has more than 600 booths, allowing hundreds of publishing houses, book and stationery distributors from all over Asia to present and display their goods.
BookFest @ Malaysia, co-organised with Sin Chew Media Corporation, is deemed as one of the largest book expositions held in the region. The consumer fair will feature publishers from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia with millions of books from the latest and best collection of Chinese, English and Malay titles in pavilions known as the Chinese and English Pavilion respectively. BookFest also acts as a platform for both local and international authors to present their creative writings for all to see and admire.
The annual book exposition occupies one of Malaysia's most prestigious "state-of-the-art" Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) site – the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Since its inception in 2006, BookFest has occupied an exhibition space of 100,000 square feet stretching across Hall 1 to 5 of the Ground Floor level. In 2011, it took on an expansion plan and occupied an exhibition space of 125,000 square feet due to overwhelming success and support. The additional 25,000 square feet of space was occupied by a new Lifestyle Pavilion in a Grand Ballroom of Level 3 where it focused in showcasing a wider genre of stationery, music and multimedia products. This expansion served as the stepping stone for Bookfest to further develop and expand the Lifestyle Pavilion in the future.
For 2012, BookFest @ Malaysia will continue to occupy a total space of 125,000 square feet of Hall 1 - 5 and Grand Ballroom 1 & 2, Level 3. The Chinese Pavilion will be located at Hall 1 & 2, English Pavilion in Hall 4 & 5 as well as a Lifestyle Pavilion in the Grand Ballroom 1 & 2, Level 3 of the convention centre.
This mega book exposition will take place over a period of 9 days, coinciding with the school holidays. Visitors to the event can look forward to a wide range of fun-filled exciting activities such as performances, contests as well as meet-the-authors sessions which are peppered throughout the full exhibition days.
The number of visitors to BookFest @ Malaysia has been growing year after year. In its inaugural year, BookFest saw 320,000 visitors stepped into its halls and welcomed an overwhelming crowd of 400,000 in 2007. In 2008, the annual event proved to be even more successful with 450,000 visitors. Despite the Influenza A H1N1 epidemic in 2009, BookFest still recorded an astonishing 420,000 visitors – a very positive sign that Malaysians still hold onto their growing passion for reading. 2010 is the year where BookFest saw a big leap in its visitorship with an astounding record of 600,000 visitors and 2011 recorded an even further increase with 680,000 visitors.
THE PROGRAMMES ARE DIVIDED INTO 2 SEGMENTS:
ALLOCATION SPACE: The Chinese and English Pavilion will fully occupy the 5 adjoining halls at Ground Floor, while the Lifestyle Pavilion will occupy the Grand Ballroom at Level 3 of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The layout provides the best possible visitor flow. Whilst maintaining a strong cultural theme.
SHELL SCHEME SPACE: When you take up a shell scheme space, you are entitled to use a stand design. It is perfect for those who need to build a stand in the shortest time and without any hassle. The proposed packages provide the necessary options to enhance your stand. The minimum size for a shell scheme is 9sqm.

Chinese-inclined events will be held in Main Stage @ Hall 1 while the English-inclined events will be held in Stage @ Hall 5.
