CNNMoney is seeking a Senior Editor to join the team based in Hong Kong. This is a key and critical position which has leading and editorial responsibility of CNNMoney’s global expansion initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mission: Write and/or edit business news articles in the following core areas of CNNMoney coverage: Markets, technology, small business, personal finance and economy
- Management and supervision: supervise bureau staff and represent CNN Money in the region
- Journalism: editing articles, writing headlines, vet story ideas and plan coverage, while maintaining the highest journalistic standards. Covering breaking news and enterprise features – on both international and U.S. domestic topics
- Collaboration: working closely with section editors and the CNNMoney news desk in New York. He/ she will also play a lead role in coordinating CNNMoney’s daily and future coverage with other relevant parts of CNN, particularly international elements
- Web site production: curation of CNNMoney’s new international gateway page - both producing the page directly and through supervision of other bureau staff as needed
- Product development: play a key role, working with CNNMoney’s international editor, in developing franchises and other products arising from international coverage
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or broadcasting and higher level degree desirable
- A minimum of 5 years journalist experience
- Experience writing and/or editing for a news website, wire services, newspaper or magazine a must
- New media and business-news experience a plus
- Sound news judgment
- Excellent communication skill and proven leadership and analytical skills
