Tropics Magazine™, the 1st bi-lingual magazine for the multiracial community, is looking for Freelance Journalists all around the world: two Journalists in Africa, two in Europe, two in America, two in Asia, and two in Australia.

Topics/subjects to cover: Fashion, Beauty, Sports, Arts, Culture, Tourism, Business, Health, etc.

Typical activities can include:
  • researching a subject and story;
  • writing and editing news stories and features in the Tropics Magazine's monthly issues and blog;
  • ensuring work is well written, accurate and submitted to deadline;
  • conducting interviews, either in person, over the phone or via email;
  • attending seminars, conferences and fairs;
  • generating ideas for stories;
  • sourcing images to accompany written pieces with relevant accreditation;
  • meeting with colleagues/Editor to plan the content of the issue and the character of the publication;
  • keeping up to date with trends and developments relating to the magazine’s subject matter.
Tropics Magazine's freelance journalists spend time networking and building up relationships with publications and their staff. They must pitch ideas to interested publications and constantly secure new work.
