Deadline: 25 August 2012
This month we have something very special for you. We have teamed up with Cerebrovit to bring you a fantastic essay competition that will run over the next FIVE weeks! This week we introduce the competition, and on the September 2 issue we'll announce the winners.
THE ATTENTION SPAN PROBLEM
As Student Globe readers often report, concentrating is not always an easy task to do. Often times you set aside time to do homework, only to find yourself distracted with things like blackberry messenger (bbm), Facebook, or the iPad. Other times that distraction might be a little brother or a best friend. Even without these distractions, you might find concentrating difficult if you didn't get enough sleep the night before. Whatever the reason may be, in the end your homework isn't finished on time. Everybody has an attention span. Attention span is the length of time you can focus on a task without being distracted by something else. Having a long attention span is needed because you need to be able to focus in order to achieve your goals.
Children are born with a short attention span, but that generally grows longer as they grow into adulthood. Your attention span is also affected by your regular habits. There are many ways you can improve your attention span, as long as you have the willpower to work on it! Who said study can't be fun?!
THE ESSAY COMPETITION
To increase awareness among students, we're inviting you and your friends to join our 500-700 word essay competition on the topic of concentration. The question you're answering is: What are some of the things you do to concentrate on your study while still having fun and being social?
This essay has to be written in English, and we'll be judging your answers based on good english, structure, and the creativity of your answer.
There are a few ways you can submit your answer and your picture with Cerebrovit X-cel product:
Registration will close at mid-day on Friday, August 25, so hurry up and join us for a chance to enter and win the grand prize!
