To celebrate our anniversary, we, Team yourstoryclub.com, announce another mega short story writing competition “Creative Writing Competition 2012 India – Short Story Writing Competition”. Under this scheme one can win up to INR 10,000 (approximately US $200) by writing short stories on given situation.
WHAT IS “CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION 2012 INDIA”? “Creative Writing Competition 2012 India” is a short story writing competition based on creative story writing from given situation. One can take part in this competition by writing a short story from list of given settings, objects and themes. From below list choose any setting, object and theme. Your story should use chosen setting and theme in which chosen object should play an important role in the story.
WHAT ARE RULES OF “CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION 2012 INDIA”?
1. Short Story must be submitted for publishing on or before SEPTEMBER 30, 2012 23:59:59 IST.
NOTE: Our editors may put back story in draft status for any clarification or correction. Such cases would NOT be considered for the competition if appropriate clarification or correction was not received by us before the deadline. Therefore, we advise to submit your story for the competition as early as possible to avoid last moment unforeseen glitches.
Story in draft status would not be considered for the competition.
2. Short Story must be ORIGINAL and must NOT be published anywhere including but not limited to personal blog, online publisher, forum, news paper, magazine or book.
3. Language of Short Story must be ENGLISH.
4. Length of Short Story must be between 300 (THREE HUNDRED) words and 3000 (THREE THOUSAND) words.
5. There is NO specific category for short story. However short story should be based on chosen setting, object and theme.
HOW WILL A STORY WIN? What is Prize amount? When will result be declared? Our editors will, using pre defined criteria, critically review and score all the stories participating in “Creative Writing Competition 2012 India”. The highest scoring short stories would win prizes as mentioned in table below. Result will be declared on or before OCTOBER 14, 2012.
NOTE: Our editors’ decision will be final and we may not provide any justification for given result.
WHAT ARE CRITERIA TO DECIDE WINNER OF “CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION 2012 INDIA”? There are two main criteria on which scoring would be done. First criterion is relation of the short story with chosen CODE – chosen setting and theme with importance of chosen object in the story. Second criterion is five key elements of short stories. Following score card would be used to score contesting short stories:
CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE STORY? Will it be possible for the same writer to win more than one prize? Yes you can. We recommend so because it increases your chance of winning. Yes it is possible. Our editors will review all stories and select the winners irrespective of whether they are submitted by same or different writers. One may choose to write many stories with even same code.
