2012 Lampara Publishing - PETA Children's Storytelling Competition (P15,000 top prize | Philippines)

PETA, the country's pioneering company in the use of theater for education, joins one of the country's biggest publishing companies, Lampara Publishing House in enriching this year's competition with creative workshops to enhance the participant's storytelling and performance skills.

CATEGORY:
  • Category A: Grades 1-4
  • Category B: Grades 5-7

HOW TO REGISTER

Fill-up this registration form and submit to any of the PRECIOUS PAGES outlets or to the PETA Theater Center, No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City with the following:
  • Photocopy of student ID and school registration form
  • Registration fee of P300.00.

COMPETITION RULES
  • Only stories published by Lampara Books and written by Filipino authors may be used as a storytelling piece for this competition.
  • The competition will have two categories: Grades 1-4 and Grades 5-7

Selection of finalists: The participant should be available to join a 4-hour workshop to be held at the PETA Theater Center (date to be announced). The showcase of this workshop shall determine the 10 finalists for each category4.

ORIENTATION OF THE COACHES: The coaches of all selected participants should be available to attend the orientation for the competition rules and criteria for judging and a children’s rights session. They will be given the list of Lampara Books for selection of the storytelling piece to be used in the contest.

STORYTELLING WORKSHOP: All finalists will be invited to join a 2-day storytelling workshop to be conducted by PETA Artist-Teachers to prepare them for the finals.

FINALS: The finals will be held during the Annual Book Fair to be held on September 16, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia-SMEX

  • 1st Prize P 15,000.00
  • 2nd Prize P 12,000.00
  • 3rd Prize P 7,000.00
  • Plus trophies, certificates and gift packs for winning storytellers and their respective coaches from Lampara Publishing House, Inc.
