Job Opening: Islamic Finance Correspondent for Thomson Reuters (Malaysia)
We are looking for an energetic reporter to spearhead Reuters' Islamic finance coverage from Malaysia, the world's largest Islamic bond market and which increasingly dominates the $1 trillion global IF market. This position in Kuala Lumpur will seek to address increasing demand for Islamic Finance news across all sectors, from debt and equity news to regulatory issues, insurance and sovereign wealth. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in Islamic finance and a track record of breaking news and providing insightful stories and analyses. He/She will have experience building contacts and getting beats and exclusives. The position will involve close coordination with colleagues covering Islamic Finance elsewhere in the company. The candidate must be able to build a wide-ranging contact list to support coverage of all branches of the fast-growing Islamic finance market, from sukuk issuance and listing to product launches.

ISLAMIC FINANCE CORRESPONDENT, MALAYSIA

Required Skills :

- at least five years financial reporting experience
- experience covering debt and equity markets
- knowledge of Islamic finance issues
- good teamworking skills
- Bahasa Malaysia or Arabic a plus
