PROJECT SUMMARY AND POSITION OVERVIEW :
Becoming part of a real-time news reporting operation producing headlines, stories and tables based on corporate announcements from U.S. mid- and small-capitalization companies and equities analysts' reports on all North American, Western European and other companies.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Writes stories with accuracy, speed and independence, in accordance with Reuters principles and operating standards.
- Identifies market-moving figures and comments from sources including electronic news releases, conference calls, Webcasts, press conferences and produces news items based on them.
- Builds and maintains a set of contacts and sources. Manages news coordination with equities reporters in New York and Europe.
- Develops expertise and knowledge in relevant areas of sector specialization through research, networking with specialist reporters in other Reuters bureaux etc.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :
- Should have a post graduation degree (Journalism).
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
MUST HAVE:
- Ability to write clearly and quickly per Reuters reporting standards and principles.
- Sound command of grammar, spelling, punctuation.
- Comfort with handling figures and facts accurately and capability to digest financial data.
- Must be able to work under time pressure and willing to work in shifts.
Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
PREFER TO HAVE:
- Typically 0-8 years experience writing and reporting business news.
- Knowledge of corporate activity and stock markets, or ability to gain such knowledge quickly.

Typically, shifts are: 4.00 pm-1.00 am, 9.00 pm/10.00-5 am/6 am
