The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Cleveland State University, invites applications for the position of Visiting Faculty for the College’s India Studies Program. Rank is open and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is a temporary one-semester appointment and is not eligible for tenure. Hiring is contingent on maintaining existing levels of funding from the State.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in the fine or performing arts, art history, or in the social sciences, with concentration on India.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful post-secondary (undergraduate) teaching; a distinguished record of scholarship or creative achievement; and previous experience working within a cross-cultural learning environment.
DUTIES:
Teach two courses in area of expertise within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; present a series of colloquia to faculty, staff, and students and to the community at large on India-related subjects; collaborate with other University faculty involved in India Studies research.
This one semester, non-tenured position is for Spring semester 2013, with a starting date of January 14, 2013.Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
