iDo.the.WRITe.thING writing contest is an initiative from SIM Global Education, aimed to raise the awareness of Singapore as an overseas education destination for aspiring university students. Using Internet as the platform for the contest entry, this will reach out to web-savvy youths around the world. The youths can gather in our website to build friendships, read about the dreams of fellow-youths, and we’ll be looking out to discover some young and creative talent writers. We invite you to share your thoughts and plans about studying in Singapore, and consider joining us at SIM Global Education.
About the Contest
* iDo.the.WRITe.thING is open to all nationalities, except Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents, with age between 16 – 20 years as of 31 Dec 2011.
* Those who are current students or past students, or graduates of SIM Global Education are not eligible to enter.
* The contest is open from 1 July 2011 to 31 Aug 2011, 12 noon.
* Each contestant is only allowed to submit one entry.
* Contestants will submit their entries via email to oac@sim.edu.sg.
* Submission must be made in English language only, using the entry form (in word template) which can be downloaded below. SIM Administrator will publish the shortlisted entries onto the website.
* Top 3 winners will receive 2 return air tickets to Singapore and stay at SIM Global Education Campus Studio Apartment for 3D 2N (conditions apply).
Please observe the following guidelines:
o Don’t write about things that are confidential and if you don’t want others to read about.
o Don’t post any information that is offensive or defamatory. Your entry may be rejected.
o Don’t plagiarize. Your entry may be rejected.
o Winners will be invited to do a final essay on his travel experience to Singapore & SIM.
o SIM Global Education reserves the right to reject any entry and to edit or delete any content that is offensive.
o SIM Global Education reserves the right to publish the photographs and/or names of all or any prize winners on our website, in promotional materials and advertisements as it deem fit.
o SIM Global Education reserves the right to change, amend or withdraw the rules and regulations without prior notice.
o In the event of a dispute, the decision of the SIM Global Education panel of judges is final. No correspondence will be entertained.
All winners of the contest will be notified via e-mail by 19 Sep 2011. All winners must claim their prizes before 31 Dec 2011. Prizes not claimed within the deadline given will be forfeited. Prize winners (of the return air tickets to Singapore) should not be Singaporeans or non-Singaporeans residing in Singapore. Prizes are not transferrable and are not allowed to be converted to cash. Claims made after the deadline will not be entertained.
