De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) started out as a community or night school for working students based in De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU-M). Under the leadership of the late Br. Andrew B. Gonzalez FSC, the community school evolved into a dynamic institution that offered pioneering degree programs different from what regular universities and colleges had.
WRITER
Job Summary:
* Provides support to the Editorial Coordinator by developing well-written copy for a variety of communication materials through strong research and use of appropriate sources and citations.
Minimum Educational Attainment:
* Must be a graduate of a communications, writing or relevant degree program, preferably Creative Writing or Development Communications
Working Experience:
* Has at least two years experience in publications, marketing communications, corporate communications, advertising, multimedia or in any creative team
Others:
* Must have a working portfolio of written and published works
* Can work within set parameters and able to adapt writing to a wide variety of audiences and creative outputs
* Able to accept critiques and meet deadlines under high pressure
* Above average computer skills (MS Office)
* Preferably with basic knowledge of publication-related software programs (e.g. Adobe Pagemaker or InDesign)
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Good organization and coordination skills
* Good people and customer service skills
* Trustworthy
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conducts research and drafts copy that meets standards and satisfies the needs of a given project, and submits draft copy to immediate supervisor for approval; must be able to revise and finalize draft copy as needed and ensure that copy contains official, authenticated and updated information.
2. Reviews the spelling, grammar, composition and authenticity of information in copies submitted by contributors to major projects/programs; must be able to revise and finalize copies as needed.
3. Coordinates and collaborates with various DLS-CSB contacts for projects or project requirements, as necessary.
4. Submits proposals for creative strategies or various creative projects to immediate supervisor.
5. Assists the Editorial Coordinator in drafting written documentation and reports for a variety of projects or requirements.
6. Maintains and updates relevant file archives, such as copy drafts, and project soft copies.
7. Assists the Editorial Coordinator in evaluating information needs and conducting research to obtain relevant information updates or additions.
8. Assists the Editorial Coordinator in proofreading and editing copies of other offices for correction of grammar or institutional branding.
9. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as specified by immediate supervisor
