34th Kyoto International Cultural Association Essay Contest

The 34th contest focuses on “Japan in the International Community: My view.” We are pleased to present this opportunity for specialists and non-specialists alike to describe their personal experiences in Japan or to compare Japanese society and culture to those of their own.

This year’s contest focuses on “Japan in the International Community: My View.”

Application eligibility: Anyone, other than native speakers of Japanese who can give an oral presentation in Kyoto on October 2, 2011.

The essay can be submitted in either English or Japanese. English: within 2,000 words.

Application deadline: Postmarked by August 15, 2011

Prize: Kica prize (First prize 100,000yen, and two runners-up 50,000yen)

How to apply: essays should be submitted with the application form via e-mail or post.
