World Vision Indonesia's "I WISH" Writing Competition

Join "I WISH" writing competition. Voice your hopes!

Theme: I Wish the Indonesian mothers and children are able to have good nutrition.

Sub-theme:

1. Breastfeeding for babies
2. Balanced nutritious food
3. Posyandu activities
4. Puskesmas and other health services
5. Education in school on mother and child’s health and nutrition
6. Clean and healthy condition of housing area, schools and community environment


Prizes:

Age between 12-15 years old
1st Prize Cash of Rp 3 million
2nd Prize Cash of Rp 2 million
3rd Prize Cash of Rp 1 million

Age between 16 – 18 years old
1st Prize Cash of Rp 3 million
2nd Prize Cash of Rp 2 million
3rd Prize Cash of Rp 1 million

Tax related to the prizes shall be borne by the winners.

”I WISH” Competition Requirements

1. Age of participants between 12-18 years old. The competition is divided into two categories: age between 12-15 years old and 16-18 years old
2. Participant may send more than one creation, but a maximum of 3 creations
3. Creation should be original individual creation.
4. Creation is submitted in the form of:
  • participant’s original writing (not translation or adaptation)
  • creation has not been submitted for any other competition
  • creation has not been published through printed, on-line, radio, television media, etc. Evidenced through participant’s letter of statement (see attached sample)
5. Creation is completed with copy of current identity card / student card or a letter of statement from school / parents
6. Creation is submitted through:

If sent through mail and fax, please write down ”I WANT Contest” on the upper left side. Your creation should be received by the committee by June 15, 2011. This contest is free of charge!

Writing Requirements:

1. Writing consists of 100 – 200 words
2. Writing is computer-typed using MsWord or (clear and readable) hand-writing
3. Writing should describe the desire for mother and child are able to have good nutrition through a simple action.

SAMPLE:

Sub-theme: Posyandu activities

Sample: If I were the village leader, I would allocate the village fund for providing nutrition service in posyandu by way of ..........

Sub-theme: Breastfeeding for Babies

Sample: If I were the Minister of Health, I would like to create a regulation that supports the development of “Caring for Babies” Hospital, which….

Sub-theme: Balanced nutritious food

Sample: As a child, I want to help planting vegetables in my garden through ……

Evaluation Criteria:

1. Participants complete all procedures as required within the allocated time.
2. Conformity of writing with the theme
3. Writing flow: clear, systematically thinking flow
4. Language style: pleasant to read and easy to understand
5. Moral/ core message of the writing: not insulting and not threatening to any ethnic group, race and religion
6. Creativity: contains fresh ideas
7. Ideas should be applicable

Winners will be announced on July 15, 2011 through website: www.worldvision.or.id and the committee will contact the winners through an official notification letter. Decision on winners is the sole right of the committee and is not revisable.
