Categories and Prizes
There are two categories in the contest: short story and poetry. In each category, the first prize winner receives P80,000 and a trophy; the second prize winner receives P50,000 and a trophy; and the third prize winner receives P30,000 and a trophy.

The Awards
Winners of the Philippines Free Press Literary Awards will be announced on the awards night, held after the judging period. Finalists will be notified by email, telephone, or post.
Submission of articles
The Philippines Free Press prefers submissions to be sent via email (freepress100years@mail.com) as Microsoft Word or RTF attachments. The name, address and contact numbers of the author must be included in the document of the submission.
Contest Eligibility
To qualify, entries must have been published in the literary section of the Philippines Free Press between January and December of the year preceding the awards. If an entry wins an award elsewhere during the contest's coverage period, it is automatically disqualified. If a work is found to be plagiarized, or published previously or afterward in another periodical in the Philippines, it is likewise disqualified.
