SOAS College recently launched its’ National English Essay Writing Competition.
The competition which is open to all secondary students in government schools in Brunei hopes to encourage students to engage with important issues using the medium of English.

Ms. Brenda Low, SCB Head of Consumer Transaction Banking handing over the prizes to SOAS College Project Manager, Mr. Fahim Docrat, joined by SOAS College Senior Master Md Zulhisham Bin Hj Napiah and Ms. Jennifer Kang, SCB Head of Corporate Affairs and Marketing.
Standard Chartered Bank Brunei has pledged their support for this competition by sponsoring the prizes which includes, an i-touch, i-pods, cash savings accounts and goodie bags.
The prizes are worth BND2000.
Project Manager for the SOAS College National English Essay Writing Competition, Mr. Fahim Docrat said, "We thank Standard Chartered Bank for their support which highlights the important role that the private sector plays in ensuring that our youth are given every opportunity to excel and make a positive contribution to society."
