Theme: Allah’s Mercy to Mankind
SUBMISSION: Poems must be postmarked Feb. 14 – Feb. 28

  • No poems will be accepted after February 28th
  • All poems must be submitted with signed entry form.
  • Author’s name & age should be ON THE LOWER BACK of the paper.
  • Spelling and neatness count! Your work should reflect respect for the content.
  • Parents can ADVISE, not write the poem. This should be the children’s original work. If there are any doubts, the author will be contacted by phone.
  • Submit poems that have not won in another competition.
  • Please keep a copy for yourself, originals will not be returned.
  • Poems do not have to follow a rhyme scheme but should sound pleasing when read aloud.
  • Poems must match the current theme (not required for Arabic Competition).

WINNERS

  • English: Ages- 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 /Arabic: Ages- 10 to 13 and 14 to 17 will each have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.
  • Announced at Northstar School’s Fundraising Conference.
  • Awarded a Trophy and Certificate signed by the judges.
  • May be invited to read their poems on stage if they are present.
  • Will be notified by phone or email if they are not present.
  • **Worldwide copyright of each submission remains with the author but Northstar School will have the unrestricted right to publish any submitted poems on the Northstar School website where they will remain indefinitely or as part of a printed collection by a book publisher of our choice.
