Assistant Director (Editor)
Age limit: 35 years
Pay band: Rs. 9300-34800
Grade pay: Rs. 5400

Editorial Assistant
Age limit: 35 years 0 0 0 1 1
Pay band: Rs. 9300-34800
Grade pay: Rs. 4200

Assistant Director (Editor) Essential educational qualification

(a) At least 2nd class MA in History/Pol. Science/Economics.
(b) 2 years experience of research and editing.
(c) Proficiency in English.

Desirable - Experience of book production/proof reading.

For Deputation - Editorial Assistant with 8 years service in the grade.

Editorial Assistant Essential educational qualification:-

(a) Master’s degree in Art preferable in History or BA with History as one of the subjects plus 2 years experience of editing in a publishing house.
(b) Proficiency in English.

Desirable: Proficiency in proof-reading.

General/SC/ST/OBC/Minorities/Physically Challenged 13.Languages known along with the copies of certificates /testimonials and recent passport size photograph, all duly attested by Gazetted Officer, may be sent to The Member Secretary, Indian Council of Historical Research, (Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India), 35, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi 110 001 so as to reach within 30 days of the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. In respect of applications received only by post (by post/speed post/ from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal
Pradesh, A&N Islands or Lakshadweep or abroad), the last date for receipt of applications will be 37 days instead of 30 days. The benefit of extended time will be available only in respect of applications received by post/speed post from the above mentioned areas/regions. In the case of applications received by hand or through courier service, benefit of extended time will not be available regardless of the place of residence of the applicant.

General Conditions: -

1. The post applied for should be clearly indicated in the application and also superscribed on the envelope containing the application.
2. Candidates working in Government organization/PSU should forward their applications through proper channel.
3. Age relaxation would be provided as per the rules.
4. Any attempt to influence the Council in any manner would disqualify the candidate.
5. Mere submission of application & fulfilling the eligibility criterion would give no right to any person for interview/selection.
6. Selection Committee/Chairman, ICHR may relax any eligibility conditions in case of deserving candidates.

Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The ICHR reserves the absolute right to decide as to whether to hold written test or personal interview for selection of the candidates for respective posts. The decision of the appointment authority will be final in this regard. TA will be paid as per the rules. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
