Posting Job Description We are seeking an Associate Editor to join the CNNGo.com editorial team. The Associate Editor is responsible for managing and producing the CNNGo homepage, editing, writing stories, managing, sourcing, editing & producing freelance and original content to budget, coordinating with and directing other CNNGo staff, copy editing and supporting the Editor in Chief and Editorial Director. The Associate Editor needs to possess and demonstrate strong editorial judgment together with creative ideas and executions to increase the appeal of CNNGo to its audience. He/she must also generate Sales/Marketing opportunities and collaborate with these and other Turner departments and third parties.
Job Responsibility:
• Producing and maintaining an appealing CNNGo homepage, site-wide copy editing
• Coordinating & collaborating with CNNGo team members, other Divisions, designers and third parties
• Sourcing and managing a stable of freelancers, editing and publishing freelance and original content, including photos and videos
• Managing an editorial budget
• Provide editorial and managerial backup to CNNGo management
• Create and execute content ideas whilst maintaining a schedule and editorial calendar
• Execution of editorial packages and site initiatives – including social media – on direction of the Editor in Chief.
Required Qualifications :
• A minimum of 5 years senior editorial experience, preferably online and in the travel/lifestyle
• Previous CMS/technical experience
• Demonstrated published works and Photoshop skills required
• Basic HTML understanding
• Previous blogging experience is highly desirable
• Experience living and working in Asia Pacific desirable
• Fluent English Speaker, knowledge of Chinese a plus
• Proactive and able to initiate ideas to the team
