Here is the updated press release for the Brunei History essay writing competition:
Split into various categories, namely - for the public, students, as well as pictorial and illustration form, the competition is open to Brunei citizens and residents, except for History Centre officials and their children.
A $2,000 cash prize awaits the winners of the pictorial, illustration story and essay writing, while the first runner-up will walk away with $1,000, and $750 for third place winner.
Five consolation prizes (worth $750 each) will also be presented in the pictorial and illustration story category, while the Brunei history essay category will see consolation prizes (each worth $300) awarded to five participants.
Meanwhile, the winner of Student Essay Writing (Category A) will take home $350, while the victor in Category B will be awarded $450. The first runner-up in Category A will walk away with $250, the second runner-up will take $150, while consolation prizes worth $60 will be awarded to five others.
For Category B, the first runner-up will take $350, followed by $250 for second runner-up and five consolation prizes worth $100 each.
Entry forms are available at the reception counter of the History Centre in the capital during office hours and the deadline is June 30. For further inquiries, contact the secretariat at 2240166 (ext 226, 227, 228 and 242).
