Developmental Editor (Philippines)

To support Publishing Manager in the development and maintenance of the Elsevier SEA local publishing programme. The job holder will undertake manuscript & content development for Health Science projects, ensuring timely publication of commissioned titles, quality and profitability targets.

Work with Publishing Manager to ensure author's proposal is carried through to the final manuscript, and that the content is peer-reviewed and free of plagiarism.

Ensure profitability of project

* Work with Publishing Manager to manage project budget primarily contributor and reviewer fees.
* Vested interests in the achievement of Sales Revenue and Profit Target for SEA, as will be mentioned in the PDP

Team work and interpersonal communication

* Effective transmittal of final manuscript and imagery rights requirements to Production Manager and Rights Manager.
* Facilitate changes of manuscripts/layout with authors and Production Manager

Builds relationships with potential authors/contributors/reviews

* Work closely with Sales & Acquisition Manager and particiapte in some of their sales calls to faculty members
* Maintain an up-to-date database of KOLs

Job requirements:

* Possess a Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences or related field
* Minimum of 2 years in similar capacity
* Possess editorial and organizational skills
* Computer literate is essential
* Candidate with scientific background is an advantage.
