We are looking for an experienced deputy business editor to work on a leading English business magazine that is published for a professional body. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the editor in executing overall editorial direction; writing and editing pieces; and working as second in command in an editorial team of four.

Deputy Business Editor

Responsibilities include

* Supporting the editor in planning overall editorial direction, and monthly execution
* Editing pieces from freelance contributors
* Writing pieces
* Maintaining the highest editorial standards and ethics

Requirements

* 5+ years as a financial journalist/editor
* Exceptional writing and editing skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of world business, Asia in particular
* Creative thinker, able to come up with new ideas and execute them
* Proven instinct for a good story
* Track record of working as part of a team
* Thrives on deadline pressure
* Driven to make each issue of a magazine better then the last
* Languages: English. Cantonese and Mandarin a plus, but not absolutely necessary
