TONGUES OF LOVE

Six poets will read their love poems in the original Cebuano, Iluko, Hiligaynon, Waray, Bicol, and Tagalog languages on 8 February (Tuesday), 7-9pm at the Conspiracy Bar in Visayas Avenue. The Filipino versions will be read right after the performance of the original.
Dubbed “Tongues of Love,” writers Richel Dorotan, Ariel Tabag, John Iremil Teodoro, Jerry Gracio, Niles Jordan Breis, and Rebecca T. Añonuevo are going to engage the audience with their latest take on the erotics of love. The open mike portion follows the reading.
The event is part of the annual Philippine International Writers Festival, a National Commission for Culture and the Arts sponsored project. The U.P. Institute of Creative Writing spearheads Tongues of Love, along with two other poetry performances, to be held in February 2011.

Love Potion: Young Poets In/On Love
UP Vargas Museum
A showcasing of fresh talents in the literary scene, the UP Writers Club and the UP ICW will bring together young poets and performance artists in Love Potions: Young Poets IN/ON Love, on February 9, 5PM at the UP Vargas Museum. The 2010-11 edition of the UP Writers Club's Literary Apprentice will be launched at the event, and winners of the UP Love Letter Writing Contest will also be awarded.
