Sports Editor
Responsibilities:
1. Formulates policy, plans, coordinates and directs all editorial activities.
2. Prepares, writes, edits, reviews all copy material (may prepare web content, news and public relations releases, special creative executions other related material).
3. Reads and evaluates material submitted for publication consideration.
4. Fact-checks through research, interview, and may attend gatherings from time to time to verify facts and clarify information.
5. Confers with executives, department heads, and managers to coordinate editorial activities, establish production schedules, solve publication problems, and discuss makeup plans and changes.
6. Organizes materials, plans over-all and individual page lay-outs.
7. Reviews, evaluates, and edits final proofs.
8. May also direct activities of the creative services team for graphic layouts.
Requirements:
1. A graduate of Communication Arts, Journalism or any related course from a reputable scholastic institution.
2. With a minimum of at least 4 years experience in editing from Newspapers
3. Preferably with experience in Sports writing or reporter
