We are seeking writers/graduate trainees for our numerous publications, which include an international magazine, industry newsletter, directories, databases, books, research, specialist publications, conferences and training courses.
Young and energetic persons are sought to play a vital role in the editorial process of these publications on Islamic finance.
Senior Writer/Writer/Editorial Executive (Kuala Lumpur)
Specific responsibilities include:
* Gather, write and report on industry news and information
* Identify, research, interview and write articles
* Write/rewrite/summarize articles as required
* Work closely with in-house graphics team
* Assist in planning content flow
* Proof read various drafts of work
* Seek specialist writers and contributors
* Build a database of potential contributors
* Obtain articles and reports in a timely manner
* Assist the editor and editorial team as directed to ensure the smooth editorial flow of publications
Requirements:
* Excellent command of written and spoken English
* A pleasant personality and strong communication skills are a must
* The ability to multi-task and interact with people from all levels and backgrounds
* Meticulous, organized and efficient; with strong research skills
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines
* Able to work quickly and independently
* Possess a high level of responsibility and commitment
* Meticulous and widely read
* Experience in, or knowledge of, financial sector activities, in particular Islamic finance, will be an asset
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team is essential
* Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status
With the expansion of current publications and emergence of new periodicals, career advancement within the company holds much potential. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and ability. Medical and other benefits are also offered.
Candidates MUST be fluent in spoken and written English, as the publications are in English and target an international audience. Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team is essential. Full time positions available.
