Muktware.com is accepting Articles/Blogs & News Items about Linux and other Free and Open Source technologies. The main goal of Muktware is to inform users about the benefits of Free and Open Source technologies. In a nut-shell, we are looking for consumer-centric content.
We run two different programs:
1. PaidAuthor program. A programe for writers and bloggers, under which we publish articles and blogs.
2. FOSS News Reporter program. A program for news reporters, under which we only publish news items.
PaidAuthor Program
We suggest you write on something you feel passionate about. You can send us articles under following categories:
* Blog/Opinion on contemporary issues.
* Smartphone reviews
* Distro Reviews
* Technical Articles on hardware & software.
* Tips & Tricks
* HowTos
* Case Studies

Every submission must include the fully-filled Author Contract form. You can download the form here. Please send us a synopsis of your article for review. Article will be accepted for publication after review by a panel.
Word limit
Minimum 1,500 words.
Payment
We pay a flat rate of US $10 or (INR 450) per article. The payment will be made via PayPal within 24-48 hours of the publication.
Check the new “PaidAuthor: Incremental” program if you want to become a regular contributor of Muktware. Regular contributor can earn up to $50 per story with ever increasing payments.
When and How Will I Be Paid?
Once the editorial team accepts the article for publication, you are entitled for payment. All payments will be made via PayPal on publishing of the content. The Payments will be cleared within 24-72 hours of publication. The author must provide us with a PayPal ID for fund transfers.

You can send us your story idea or article at editor@muktware.com. If you want to join the PaidAuthor, please send your queries to the editor with "PaidAuthor" in subject line to editor@muktware.com.
FOSS News Reporter Program
All you need to do is keep an eye on forums, mailing lists and IRC chats. If you find any scoop, create a balanced, fact-based news item and send it to us. If approved by the editors the news item will be published in Muktware. Look at this section to get an idea about what we mean by news items.
Payment
We pay a flat fee of $10 per 5 news item or $2 per news item.
All the payments will be made via PayPal, so you should have a verifies PayPal ID to join the program. $10 is the minimum threshold for the payment, that means you will be paid once you have posted 5 news items.
This is an incremental program. The more you write or get read, the more you will earn. Check out the FOSS News Reporters Program for more information. In the nutshell if your reports generate good readership the amount of money you get per news item will increase.

Minimum: 400 words.
Requirements:
* News item must be based on facts/figures and not opinion.
* News items should be of general interest. Please don't send us news item on every new release of the Linux Kernel. It's updated every now and then :-) Send us something that matters to the entire Foss community or the Linux users.
* It should not violate anyone's copyright. Don't copy paste news items from other websites. If we notice plagiarism, you will be banned from Muktware for the life-time.
* You don't need to have great writing skills (if you do have, that's great) to write news. Just follow the inverted pyramid pattern and write a 400 word short report.
* You have to sign and send the contract form.
There is no limit how much you can earn from your writing. If you write 10 news items per day, you will end up making $600 per month. That's not bad from the point of view of getting paid for doing what you love doing - reading and sharing with friends.
