A pioneering company in a specialized field of Information Technology is urgently looking for one (1) Tagalog Editor to continue its expansion.

The Company, which provides written electronic content to a worldwide clientele, is based in Makati and has a production office in the Marikina area. The qualified applicant will be stationed in the Marikina office and will work regular hours (i.e. no night shift).

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will work with the Chief Editor to edit the outputs of the company's Tagalog writers everyday and maintain quality standard. Editing duties also include re-review of submitted output, rework (if and as necessary), and training of writers.

The Tagalog Editor will also assist the Operations Manager and Chief Editor in administering other operations-related tasks such as job allocation and distribution, client communication, evaluation of writers and recruitment of new writers. Multiple administrative assistants will be available to provide full-time support.

The Tagalog Editor will also have opportunities to earn additional compensation by writing Tagalog content himself/herself whenever needed/allowed.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have the following characteristics:
  • Perfect Tagalog grammar
  • Extensive and Flexible Vocabulary
  • Tech-savvy
  • A stickler for detail
  • Need Minimum Supervision
  • Be able to Work under Intense Time Pressure and Firm Deadlines
  • Above-average IQ
  • Highly computer literate
  • Have a quick typing speed of at least 40 WPM
  • Excellent Interpersonal and People Management Skills

Experience in deadline-oriented industries (such as publishing) and a College degree are a big plus but not required.

However, the successful candidate must pass a Qualification Exam and be ready to start ASAP.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by phone and should be ready to take a Qualification Exam immediately.

The position needs to be filled ASAP and no later than January 2011.
