We are both a department of the University of Oxford and a major international publishing organization with a significant presence in Hong Kong. Our plans for the future necessitate our filling the following vacancy:

ELT Editor/Assistant Editor

Core responsibilities:

- design and develop English Language Teaching (ELT) publications at the highest quality possible

- educational research, desk editing, proofreading, and general editorial duties

- liaise with authors, freelance contributors, teachers, and academic consultants

- collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion, and sales activities

- collaborate with design, production and technical teams on publishing and IT productions

Successful applicants will have the following attributes:

- a degree in Applied Linguistics, or in a discipline closely related to ELT

- native level command of both written and spoken English

- substantial educational publishing experience (for the Editor position)

- positive and pro-active; a committed team player who could work under pressure

- strong market sense, analytical skills, communication skills, and organizational skills

- teaching experience and/or good knowledge in using IT for education will be an advantage
