Entry Requirements:

Candidates should have

* a Hong Kong degree majoring in Journalism & Communication, Translation, English Language, Chinese Language, or equivalent; AND
* obtained Grade “C” or above in Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, or equivalent; AND
* at least 5 years of experience in print media, online publishing, broadcast media or multimedia projects; AND
* Knowledge of FLASH, Photoshop, HTML and XML;
* experience in working on HKSAR Government projects is an advantage.

(Note 1: Candidates may be required to sit for a trade test.)

Duties:

* Main responsibilities include –
o producing and editing all textual contents for youth.gov.hk (including planning, research, script-writing and translations between Chinese and English);
o collaborating with other team members in the preparation and content production of youth.gov.hk. (Note: The appointee may be required to work irregular hours)

Terms of Appointment

* Successful candidate will be appointed on one-year non-civil service contract terms.

Fringe Benefits:

If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the officer may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to MPF scheme, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest day, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.

Application forms (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2008)) are obtainable from any Public Enquiry Service Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed forms should be sent to the enquiry address on or before the closing date for application. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation within 8 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
