Role: Assistant Editor (new media) for a Rapidly Growing Industry Platform
India Carbon Outlook (http://India.Carbon-Outlook.com) is looking for self-motivated writers and journalists that would like to help shape dialogue in the rapidly emerging field of sustainability as India moves towards becoming a low carbon economy. The right candidate should be:

• Able and willing to take on a disproportionate level of responsibility at this stage of his/her career.
About India Carbon Outlook:
India Carbon Outlook is a market access, insight and collaboration platform that tracks actions related towards sustainability in the carbon economy. It proactively promotes dialogue and collates data to enable action by local, regional as well as global practitioners. India Carbon Outlook publishes views and analysis, organizes multi-stakeholder roundtables, facilitates peer to peer learning interactions, and much more.
India Carbon Outlook is a division of cKinetics and was launched in end Sep 2009 at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York. It is a 2010 winner of the "Emerging Voice Sustainability Contest" by the Global Reporting Initiative and Just Means.
Role:
This is a multi-disciplinary role that would encompass the following:
• Develop high quality original content that demonstrates thought leadership
• Track ongoing industry news as pertains to sustainability and the low carbon economy, and develop points of view
• Engage with the online and offline communities
• Maintain production schedules
• Conduct research, fact checking, and copy editing of external writers
• Provide logistical support for activities that will be organized under the India Carbon Outlook brand.
Performance metrics for this role will include: quality of content generated, community growth, publication readership, and partnerships established.
About you:
• You have excellent English written communication skills.
• Have strong analytical and research ability with an inclination to follow leads on ones own.
• You have demonstrated a passion in wanting to build a media forum: online or offline.
• You are a proactive and independent person who has a demonstrated passion as relates to climate change, sustainability or carbon abatement.
• Prior experience in journalism, content generation, media platforms, etc. preferred.
• Have a Masters degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience; or a bachelors degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
