IYB 2010 Essay Challenge for Indian Students
The Future of Biodiversity in India
Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC) is an autonomous scientific body that conducts and encourages research in astrobiology. IARC has partnered with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) initiative; the International Year of Biodiversity 2010 to bring forth this Essay Challenge.
Entry Criteria
The topic of the essay challenge is “The Future of Biodiversity in India”.
Indian Students from Grade 8 to Graduates.
Please send unpublished original essays in English only; keep entries to a maximum of 1600 words.
List adequate references and acknowledgments otherwise entries will be by default disqualified.
How to Enter
Email essays to science.iarc@gmail.com. Include your essay as a MS Word attachment. The subject line of the email must be “IYB2010 Essay Challenge”.
Mention your name, age, complete address, phone and school / college contact details in the email.
Important dates
The last date of submission is December 11, 2010.
The winners will be declared on December 22, 2010..
Winners
The best entries will be published on the IARC website as well as a special edition ebook along with write-ups from scientists and researchers.
The best three entries will win book vouchers worth Rs.500 and receive a certificate each.
Selection Panel
The Selection Panel comprises of researchers with IARC; it will be headed by Dr. Arun H. Dholakia.
