UA&P Student Tops Shell Essay Competition

Oil chain giant Shell awarded a student from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) for winning the top prize in the New Energy Future essay writing competition last October .

Abraham Guiyab, student of the UA&P Master of Arts in Political Economy program, claimed first place for his piece on the theme “The Role of the Youth in Tackling the Challenges of the New Energy Future.” He competed with candidates from 17 higher educational institutions around the country.

Besides bringing home the Php 50,000 cash prize, Guiyab was appointed Youth Delegate to the Leadership Training in Energy.
