Manila-based Financial Times Senior Web Editors Needed
The Role
You will be responsible for all aspects of online editorial production work, from preparing stories for the web to picture selection and homepage publishing. You will write stand firsts, headlines and picture captions for FT.com while ensuring production quality is consistent with the FT brand.

In addition, you will moderate readers’ comments and update the homepages and special/in-depth pages. Hyperlinking, tagging and embedding pictures and multimedia are other essential duties of this role.

You must have a good knowledge of the business world, possess sound news judgement and have the ability and willingness to adapt to the FT’s editing style and meet its high standards.

You should be able to work in a revise role and have the confidence and communication skills to mentor junior staff.

The Applicant…

● Should have a proven track record in media, preferably for both print and online, as well as the ability to adhere to very strict editorial standards

● Must be able to demonstrate project management skills, including the ability to make sound judgments and quick decisions

● Must be able to produce quality work within daily deadlines

● Should have a genuine interest in news and the ability to work with minimum supervision

● Should have a sharp eye for detail

● Should have the ability to learn new technical skills quickly

● Ideally, would have had experience working as a production editor for a quality business website, publication or other media organisation with a global audience

● You have had at least six years experience as an editor or journalist in a quality media organisation

● You are willing to work on a variable shift schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
