From a 'developing nation' just two decades back, India, Today, has emerged as one of the decisive nations shaping the contour of the world economy. Consistently charting a growth path over the last few years, 'Brand India' is an idea whose time has truly arrived. Today, the triumph of Brand India is visible in almost all fields — with some aggressive cross-border acquisitions, India has been rewriting the global business equations. India has established its leadership in IT and knowledge-based industries globally; and along with the rapidly declining age profile, it has the fastest growing population of workers and consumers. With huge investments in infrastructure development on the anvil, India is today a preferred investment destination. It has one of the world’s most rapidly growing markets, and today, Indian products and services are recognized for their quality all over the world. We feel it time for us to showcase our might with "Brand India". From Apparels to Engineering, from IPL to F1, we see an Indian in flesh or its product and our flag fluttering high.

On this issue, we are pleased to present our next theme for the 2nd Issue of GDGWI's Newsletter Bizbook as "BRAND INDIA". Bring out your patriotism in words and let the whole world know what you think about "Brand India". We are inviting articles from students of all B-Schools in India.

The articles can be related to regular section of Bizbook which include:

1. AD Talk: These days, on one hand advertisement agencies are coming up with smart and innovative advertising as well as integrated marketing campaigns. Then on the other hand, there is also an issue of ethical advertising. This section discusses such ads and marketing campaigns.(Express you analysis on such advertisements and campaign in not more than 1300 words)

2. AD of the Month: Print Ads come and go. But there are some which leave a mark for a long time. Here is an opportunity for future ad makers to bring out their ideas and to show what their creativity is all about. The theme for next issue is 'brand revival'. Some very influential Indian brands in past have gone dead in recent years. If you are the Advertising Head of any of these following companies:- (i)HMT watches (ii)Hindustan Motors Ambassador (iii)BPL Television (iv)Bajaj Scooters Try to design a print ad, which can be used by the company to revive these brands and bring them back to life.

3. Stock of the Month: Predict which stock will perform well next month. Give a small analysis in not more than 500 words which shows the basis of your analysis. The entries will be judged on the percentage gain in stock value from 11th Nov. to 7th Dec. 2010 and the analysis shown.

4. Perspective: Article related to latest happenings in Business World let it be marketing, finance, international business, merger and acquisitions, buying of sports teams etc. Send in your entries in not more than 1300 words.

5. Vaad-Vivaad: Was Obama’s Indian Tour just another visit by the Head of a foreign country? Take a stand i. e. ‘for the motion’ or ‘against’ and send your vaad-vivaad in not more than 300 words for any of the stands.

6. Just Like That: Bizbooking is not just about serious business articles. For people with free-flow thinking, articles on any random topic that appeals to YOU are also invited. (Word Limit not more than 600 words)

7. "Brand India": Articles are also invited related to our next issue’s over story ‘Brand India’. (Word Limit of 1300 words)

8. Miscellaneous: Other than these articles, any articles related to business are also welcome.

Awards and Prizes- For all of the above mentioned Regular Sections, the prize money is Rs. 500/- plus letter of appreciation for the best entries in each categories. The runner-up entries in each category will also be given a letter of appreciation. Along with this, best entry amongst all the articles gets an additional prize money of Rs. 1000/-. Apart from this, all articles featuring in our newsletter will also get a letter of appreciation.

Note:

1. All data represented and presented should be authentic; all data must have reference added along with the entry.
2. Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification of the team/individual.
3. Obscene Ad’s will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification.
4. The idea incorporated in the contest should be genuine and the newsletter will not be held responsible in case of any disputes with a third party.
5. The decision of the editorial team / faculty will be the final say for publication.
Instructions- The format of the entry should be . doc/. docx and . jpg for ‘AD of the Month’. The entries are to be mailed at newsletter@gdgoenka. ac. in with appropriate subject .
